is a research agency for special services and unconventional solutions, operating from their laboratories in Berlin. Starting in 2010 Peter Behrbohm and Anton Steenbock have been working as a artists duo and collaboratively realized numerous projects on the interface of art, architecture and activism. Among others they formed the «Sonderschutzstelle» in 2012, an fictitious state agency service for special security and non standard measurements in public space. The elaborate performances «Habbakuk» (2018) mix fiction with political action and blur the line between art and theatre. It wasn’t until their recent invitation as candidates for Berlin’s Forecast Festival that Steenbock and Behrbohm are operating as Sonder.





Anton Steenbock Anton Steenbock (1984) lives and works in Berlin Germany.
He attended the class of Lothar Baumgarten at the Berlin University of the Arts (2006 – 2012) and the Parque Lage art school in Rio de Janeiro (2013 -2015).
For the past ten years he established a fictitious real estate network called da Silva Brokers which whom he operates in digital and public space. His interventions, consisting of fake architecture campaigns, showrooms and widely spread propaganda aim to trigger political consciousness for urban and environmental changes on hotspots like the world cup 2014 and the Olympic games 2016 in Brazil as well as enterprise acquisitions in public space like Google street view and sharing economy apps such as Uber, Coop and AirBnB.
His works where shown among others, in solo exhibitions at the Museum for contemporary art MAC – Rio de Janeiro -Brazil (2015), the Centro Cultural de Sao Paulo (CCSP) São Paulo – Brazil (2012) and the Künstlerhaus Frise in Hamburg – Germany (2019) Weserhalle -Germany (2021)
as well as in group exhibitions such as :
Martin Gropius Bau Berlin, Biennale SUR – Argentina(2017), Triennale Frestas, Sao Paulo – Brazil (2015) and at Kunstwerke KW Berlin – Germany (2020)



Peter Behrbohm (1987) designs obstacles, digs for narrative fragments, constructs abnormal aparatus and installs fictions in public spaces. After studies in architecture, film and art at the University of the Arts Berlin and the Royal Technical Institute Stockholm, he received his diploma degree in architecture. Among others, he has been granted the «BDA-SARP Award» (2014) for the best German graduation project, the «Baumgarten» Scholarship (2009,2013),
the postgraduate «Elsa-Neumann» Scholarship (2015), the «Berlin Research Scholarship»(2016) as well as the «MAK Schindler Scholarship» (2018) given by the Museum of Applied Art / Contemporary Art Vienna. Many of his works are surgically intervening public spaces as well as its routines. 2014 he opened a «Bank» in Newcastle upon Tyne. The cinematic portrait «Kobuto» (2016) was screened and awarded on film festivals and conferences internationally. The elaborate performances «Walhalla2» and «Habbakuk» (2018, with Anton Steenbock) mix fiction with political action and blur the line between art and theatre. He is currently working on a cinematic journey to the center of the world – along the infrastructure of the internet.
